Our Weekend

We have had a busy weekend, but I am excited to report that all of our closets are cleaned out! I am taking a short break before I head back to de-clutter. We have a long night ahead of us, as we have to finish touching up walls and cleaning carpets. Tomorrow's agenda is spring cleaning before the Realtor comes at 5:30 to take pictures and sign the contract. We are worn out but it will be well worth it once there is a sign in our yard! :o)

I am soliciting advice... if you have moved before do you have any suggestions on how to make our house more appealing to buyers? Lisa, I am sure you are an expert in this area! Any tips you can give us would be greatly appreciated.

Friday night our 8 year old was able to take his friend to our Kid's Ministries' "Shine Like Stars" party. Everyone involved with our Kid's ministry made the night so awesome! They put in so much time making the atrium of our church look like a red carpet event - even down to the paparazzi taking their pictures when they walked in on the red carpet. Once the kids walked down the red carpet they were given play money and they entered a carnival like area where they could play games and win prizes. He and his friend had so much fun. He was not feeling 100 percent, but I am glad I let him go. We are supposed to get pictures so I will post them. We are so thankful for all the people who do so much with the kid's at our church - most of them give many hours a week without pay and they are so faithful to teach our children God's word and make it full of energy and so much fun!

Saturday night Jeremy took our 18 month old to a kids urgent care facility because we thought he might have Pink Eye. It turned out that he does not have Pink Eye but a virus in his eyes, an ear infection and Pneumonia. I thought it was just allergies - I felt awful! I am so glad that God prompted Jeremy to take him because the doctor said his lungs sounded terrible! Our poor baby has felt awful today - fever, coughing a lot and not sleeping much. I am praying that he has a restful night. Our oldest is still sick and so I will probably take both of the them to our Pediatrician in the morning.

My break is over - back to cleaning! :o)

The Big Imagination

I have talked before about our three year old's love for all things Buzz Lightyear. Thankfully his need for the sock gloves has been forgotten and has been replaced with the imaginary "Buzz Backpack". Yesterday as we were going into the church for my Bible study I asked him to give me his "Buzz Backpack". He slowly took it off, handed it to me very gently and then asked me to put it in my bag. Once it was put away, he wanted to look in my bag to make sure it was safe. :o) After Bible study when we got to the car the first thing he said was "Can I have my backpack now please?".

Curious about the Buzz backpack; he and I sat down and had a little Q&A.
What color is it?
Gold

What is in the backpack?
His words:
My Tools (as he IS Buzz)
Flying stuff
Fighting stuff (to fight the fighting guys)
Buzz fan (in case he gets hot)

Must be a very big backpack!

This morning he graced us with his presence dressed just like this:
Notice that he is wearing two different boots? What a fashion statement! I asked him who he was and he said "Buzz Batman". Just in case you are wondering Buzz Batman does not need the gold backpack because all his power is in the Batman part of his costume. Good to know.
He insisted that I take a picture of him with his new friend "Little Buzz". As I am typing he is singing "Zacchaeus was a wee little man..." to Little Buzz and I am smiling.

He is by far our most imaginative - can't wait to see what he comes up with next!

Shaving??

Taking a break from the holiday recap for this...

Notice anything a little out of the ordinary (no not the super hero suit)?

Wednesday, during the late afternoon, Batman decided to use this to shave like daddy. He is a tough little guy, because there were very few tears, for such a big mess (on his face). I told him he needed a bandage and he said "I want Wiggles".

Once I put on the bandage, it was as if the Wiggles had healing powers. In no time, he was back to his silly self and asking me to take a picture of him with his mustache.

Kids are so resilient!

A Beautiful Spring Day?

Today was gorgeous, but it felt more like Spring than Fall. But I hear Fall may be on its way.Yeah!!

While I was pushing his brother on the swing, I noticed he was climbing up the slide. So brave.
Putting Fall Decorations out in the yard.

Not outside but I love this picture.

2nd Grade Musical

Isn't he handsome! Our 7 year old was in a musical last week at school. It was called America's History of Rock 'n Roll. He was one of the "Beatles". My pictures turned out horrible so, if you want to see the 30 seconds that he is in it - email me and I will send you the link.

Final Product

I thought I would post a picture of my son's class project that he made from the dough we made last week.

It went from this...

to this...

Friday a friend was suppose to come over for lunch, but one her kiddos was sick. I was making a new Chicken Salad recipe and had the chicken cooked so I made it for lunch. The recipe is one of Tyler Florence's recipes - he is an amazing chef. I have not made one of his recipes yet that I do not love or get rave reviews from. It was delicious - I posted it here.
