Afternoon @ the Movies

This afternoon I took my 8 and 3 year old to the movies. It was a big day for the 3 year old, because it was his first trip to a movie theater. We picked out seats and began eating our lunch of popcorn, Icees and Reese's Pieces. Am I a good mom or what!? As we were waiting for the movie to get started, I noticed that the oldest had almost drank one of the two Icees we were sharing. I told him to slow down, because he would not want to miss part of the movie for a bathroom break. Then the following was exchanged.

Boy - "It's okay mom, I have good blood pressure!"
Me- "What?"
Boy - "I have really good blood pressure."
Me- Puzzled trying to figure out what he means - then it hit me.
Me- "Do you mean good bladder control?"
Boy - "Oh yeah that is what it is called."

I almost fell out of my seat I was laughing so hard!! Good times...

My 3 year old did great! He forgot he was not supposed to talk out loud a few times and we only had to play musical chairs once - a great first time movie experience all in all. I loved looking over at him during the movie - he was so cute in that big chair.

What did we think of the movie? It was a cute movie - I think kids will like it more than parents. I caught myself yawning (or getting bored) during the middle, but there were some parts that gave me a chuckle (Jack Black is a funny guy). I was really impressed with the computer animation, there were so many small details (Po's fur looked so real).

My boys were doing Kung Fu moves and reciting lines from the movie up until bed time - they loved it. The 3 year old kept singing "Everybody is Kung Fu Nighting". I told him several times it was "Fighting" but he prefers to stick with "Nighting". What a fun afternoon - summer break is so fun!

I am thinking of taking E to one of those summer movie thingies that are during the day. I don't want to pay full price because she may not like the experience but we'll give it a try for a buck or two!

My hubby took the 3 oldest kids to this on Tuesday night- it was a fun outing for them- the kids loved it and my hubby said it was pretty good too. Good job on your 12 lb weight loss- that's awesome!
