Being at church this morning gave me such a rush! I helped with checking in the preschool kiddos for their classes. It was so exciting to see all the new families who were visiting for the first time. All three of our services were packed and Paul (one of our senior pastors) based his sermon on Hebrews 2: 9-15. He talked about how Jesus redefined death and how through God's grace we all have a choice to choose whether our time on this Earth ends with Life or death. We had lots of great songs to worship with and the last song was "Marvelous Light" by Charlie Hall (one of my faves!!!). It was all I could do not to jump up and down when it gets to this part -
Sin has lost it's power,
Death has lost it's sting.
From the grave you've risen
VICTORIOUSLY!
If you have not heard this song, click on the video below. Awesome song!
Due to Easter being so early and it being at the end of Spring Break, we did not get a family gathering planned for today. This was the first Easter in my life where I did not get together with family. It was rather strange to have soup for lunch instead of ham, asparagus and the other normal Easter foods I am used to. We took the boys to our former church's old building (they have a new one that just opened) and had an Easter egg hunt, then we had a good time playing on the playground equipment. We had a relaxing afternoon even if it was a little non-traditional.
I hope that you and your family had a very special day!

Glad you had such a great weekend! Sounds like it was lots of fun. And glad your Easter was meaningful as well. I love the song you mentioned, too.
I have never heard this song until now and I LOVE it! I really like Charlie Hall's stuff though so I'm not surprised!
Glad you had a fun Easter, even if it wasn't a traditional one! We ate lunch at home just the five of us, and we haven't done that since we've lived here. It was different, but it was good.
I love your spring break trip recap! I think East Texas is so unique too! I like it!
Blessings on your Monday!
Meredith

Love the pics. thanks for taking the time to share all the pics. Looks like you had a fabulous weekend.
Glad your Easter was different but good. My husband said in his Easter prayers, "Thank you for this very weird Easter" and we all amen!-ed.
fun song! never heard it before!
I LOVE that song too!!! We sang it also Sunday morning! It was a very non traditional day for us as well as we didn't see family.
Blessed Easter to you and your family!
