Balloon Festival

I have always wanted to attend the Plano Balloon Festival . Since we now go to church on Saturday evenings, I thought today would be a great time to go.
5:30am came really early this morning, but I was proud of everyone - they got up without a fight! Here are part of the troops at 6:00am, ready to get breakfast on our way to see the 7am balloon launches.
What a beautiful morning with perfect temperatures! We have never seen a hot air balloon up close. It was very intriguing to watch the whole process of getting the balloon ready to launch. This little guy was not into the balloons. As long as he was stroller free he was happy. His favorite part of the balloon festival was this trailer, especially the brake lights!!
Some of our favorite balloons.
After watching the balloons launch we walked around the vendor tents. The boys thought this balloon was awesome, so they wanted their picture taken with it. At 9:00am we had seen everything so we headed home. I am not a morning person, but it was so great to have done so much with our whole day still ahead of us. I might try this morning thing more often - with a BIG latte of course!!

That looks like so much fun, Jenn! There is a big balloon festival every Labor Day in Co Springs, but like you, I never want to get up early and drive there.

One of my friends and her husband went to the festival on their first date, and they've gone faithfully every single year since then...even taking their babies. Commitment, huh?

How fun! We have a Balloon and Wine festival in our area, too... maybe one day we'll head out to it. Looks great!

Fab pics, too!

What fun! Elliya and I went one year to watch the balloons launch from a distance.
